How can I get US health insurance for my (non US residents) parents (in late 50’s)?

ribciuc asked:

This is both an Immigration question and a Health Insurance question. My parents will start living in the US several months a year or more as legal visitors to live with us until they get green cards and can move here permanently. They are close 56, 59 years old. How do I go about getting them health insurance so unexpected health concerns don’t ruin them, they can get their prescriptions filled w/o paying an arm and a leg, etc?

Are there specialized US insurance companies that offer insurance to non-residents that’s worth anything? I don’t need the gimmicky travel insurance that won’t cover anything or require outrageous deductibles and paperwork sent to some tax haven country … I need a reliable US insurer who can be found, operates under laws of US, has customer service who can explain their policies, etc.

What did you do about Schengen visa insurance?

XY asked:

I was denied by the german consulate the other day because my insurance letter included the line Benefit info is not a guarantee of payment, which my insurer told me was standard… has this kind of thing happened to anyone before … this was a major co. Aetna medical… Thereafter, I had to google and buy travel insurance from one Atlas International… they have given me a letter as well… this letter says other limitations and exclusions apply. But it seems like this travel insurance co. is pretty assured about the validity of this letter for schengen visas , bec it is explicitly advertised as such. My question is, HAS ANYONE USED AN ATLAS INTERNATIONAL VISA LETTER TO GET A SCHENGEN VISA BEFORE?

Are there countries where Americans can get free or reduced college tuition costs?

V_S asked:

If so, are can you name specific schools? Do any other countries have policies where immigrants (illegal or not), get reduced tuition? I need to know, because my parent is a citizen who has paid taxes her whole life, I am an above-average student, work full or part time almost year round while attending school full time, am involved in athletic and extracurricular activities, I vote and support local campaigns, have never committed a crime, consistently serve my community and I HAVE TO DEAL WITH RISING EDUCATION COSTS WHILE UNDOCUMENTED KIDS DISCOUNTS!!! I will gladly take my talents and skills and community support where it is valued, I just don’t know where and can’t afford to travel to find out. I’m tired of walking home from school in fear of attack from one of the several immigrant gangs in the area about whom professors constantly warn us. Why should I have to compete for financial aid and housing with their relatives??? And FYI this is not just targeting Latinos. I happen to be Puerto Rican, and a U.S. citizen.

What Will I Need for US Visa Interview with a Recent DUI conviction?

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008
Andrew M asked:

I have my US Visa Interview for a B2 Travel Visa on 13/03/2009 and I have a recent DUI conviction from a vacation in the US, I have a completely clean record apart from that and I have paid my fines. The Embassy’s website says to take court records with me that show:
1. the nature of the offense(s) committed
2. the section(s) of law contravened
3. the actual penalty imposed.

What would be the best documents for me to take?
I have my Probation Order which shows my penalty imposed. I have my Notice to Defendant which shows the section(s) of the the law contravened. But the only thing I have that shows the nature of the offense committed (I take is this is the description of the events?? ) is a copy my plea bargain agreement that I was sent to sign. Will this be enough??? Is there some other document I should try and get hold of?
