I called AMEx and dispute these charges. They said they will take 6-8 weeks to investigate. Yesterday, I spoke with another AMEX rep for update, and she tells me that most likely I may not get my $$$ back, because I did not buy Travel Insurance and bought non-refundable tickets. Anyone bought with AMEX and actually got the same answer. Any recommendation on what to do now? I feel disappointed in AMEX, with their answers and everything.

crazyoldben asked: Hello! I booked a flight and hotel through Expedia.co.uk but only booked four nights hotel for a seven night stay. I booked the additional three nights hotel through a different website.
I bought my travel insurance through Expedia.co.uk
Now… I may need to cancel my trip and I’m pretty sure the reason is covered under their cancellation. I’ve emailed them and am waiting for a reply to see if this is the case.
What I need to know is will the additional hotel nights that I booked seperately, be covered in the insurance, or do they only cover anything that is booked through Expedia?

emblu asked: Hi, I have recently moved to New York City from England, I am on a tourist visa, I’m not a resident and my birth control has run out. In the UK we don’t need health insurance so I’m not sure how it all works over here. I hope some one can give me some advice.
As a non resident can I just call any doctor and make an appointment? If so how much abouts will it cost? ( I only have travel insurance and am pretty sure they wont cover birth control!)
How much is the birth control? Also do you have to be a U.S resident to go to the Planned Parenthood clinics? I looked at their website online and you have to enter a social security no. which I don’t have.
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

we wonted travel insurance for 2 weeks abroad.we tried loads of insurance Company’s but because my husband has had prostate cancer and has been in remission for 5 years and had a vain in the leg mended 10 years ago they seam to think he is a bad risk.he is 68 and fitter than me who is 62.we tried help the age and all the big insurers and they didn’t wont to know.the villa is booked but i wont to take the ins to be on the safe side. anyone know any good cheap insurers we can call.CHEERS FROM SYLVI

My parents will start living in the US several months a year or more as legal visitors to live with us until they get green cards and can move here permanently. They are close 56, 59 years old. How do I go about getting them health insurance so unexpected health concerns don’t ruin them, they can get their prescriptions filled w/o paying an arm and a leg, etc?
Are there specialized US insurance companies that offer insurance to non-residents that’s worth anything? I don’t need the gimmicky travel insurance that won’t cover anything or require outrageous deductibles and paperwork sent to some tax haven country … I need a reliable US insurer who can be found, operates under laws of US, has customer service who can explain their policies, etc.
